maureen talks (eventually) about dyskensia and use of amantadine to relieve symptoms. as with most drugs, we develop a dependence and with out them, the pendulum movement of the head and rock and rolling of all the limbs can get worse after withdrawing from amantadine, then starting up again. the symptoms have not abated. unlike drug withdrawal for other illnesses, one can never go back with parkinson’s. she keeps throwing a curve just when a respite seems to occur.

I have to adapt and more importantly my partner has to adapt with me. We are learning that being flexible and remaining balanced is the best approach.
